We’re committed to creating an environment that meets government recommendations for safety will continue to monitor guidelines and best practices for gathering together again in a safe way. To make that possible, well will do our best to create a touchless environment that allows for physical distancing. While this includes a reduced capacity and adjusted length of services, we are confident that everyone that chooses to attend will experience a similar sense of community that we have missed for several months. We hope the following information can provide some clarity and comfort as to what you can expect on Sunday, July 19th.
We would like to establish a GOLDEN RULE POLICY as we REGATHER,
Matthew 7:12
So in EVERYTHING, do to others what you would have them do to you…
Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing out of selfish ambition. Rather, in humility VALUE OTHERS above yourselves, not looking to your OWN INTERESTS but each of you to the INTERESTS OF OTHERS.
Please respect everyone's boundaries by refraining from hugging, shaking hands or any other physical contact. Even though you may be comfortable with this at this time, there may be others that are not.
Here's what we expect from you:
CHECK-IN ONLINE
We will be limiting the capacity in the gym to 50%. So CHECKING IN is a simple and easy way you can help us plan and make sure we have everything set up and spaced our for the correct number of people that will be attending.
You can find a CHECK IN here at covington.church.
CHECK IN will start the MONDAY before the Sunday you are planning to attend. If you can’t do this online because you don’t have internet access, you can call 336-496-8124 and someone will help check you in. If you are unable to check in ahead of time, someone will be able to help you check in on site.
SELF SCREEN
We ask that you SELF SCREEN before you make plans to attend, If you have a COUGH, FEVER, DON'T FEEL WELL or have been around someone that has been exposed to or has tested positive for the coronavirus,
Please stay at home and join us online, even if you have already CHECKED IN
The same is true for those who have a weak immune system
or may be dealing with a chronic medical condition or is over the age of 65
SOCIAL DISTANCING & FACE COVERINGS
From the parking lot to your seats, we expect you to social distance when you arrive. Please remain at least 6 FEET APART and refrain from hugging, shaking hands or any other physical contact. Please avoid gathering in groups while making your way to your seats.
Since the governor is requiring FACE COVERINGS in public, we also expect you to wear a face covering at all times and to make sure your mask COVERS YOUR MOUTH OR NOSE. I know no one likes to wear a face covering. Though we don't like them, this is designed to keep others safe and to protect all of us. We chose to look at the governor’s requirement as a simple gesture of LOVE and VALUING OTHERS as we live out the GOLDEN RULE POLICY.
So please do it WILLINGLY and JOYFULLY. We also understand that there are health exceptions such as respiratory issues and anxiety that are outlined in the governors mandate as well as for younger children. If this is the case, please be even more aware of SAFE BOUNDARIES for those who are unable to wear face coverings.
Here's what you can expect from us:
TOUCHLESS EXPERIENCE
The doors will be open when you arrive and exit for a TOUCHLESS experience. There will be ONE ENTRANCE entrance at the double doors on the church side of the family life center. So make sure you park on that side of the campus since the main church building will not be open.
Our VOLUNTEERS & STAFF WILL BE SCREENED before each service and will be wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing at all times.
There will be HAND SANITIZING STATIONS and an OFFERING BOX at the entrance and exit. We would also encourage you to take advantage of our online GIVING options. You can click here to give.
All worship environments will be THROUGHLY CLEANED prior to and after each service where we’ll pay close attention to touch points.
We will provide chairs in the gym and direction for socially distancing yourself or family group but are encouraging you to BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR IF YOU CAN.
The bathrooms will be open but we are encouraging you to USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE YOU ARRIVE or when you get back home.
There will be no paper bulletins but we will have an ONLINE BULLETIN available for you. A new online bulletin link will be sent out each week via Flocknote. For the best experience viewing the bulletin, you can download the free Bible App from Life.Church. Click HERE to download the FREE Bible App. Click HERE to view this week's ONLINE BULLETIN.
For the time being, prayer areas may be made available in place of traditional altar calls to allow for social distancing and privacy.
At the end of each service, please refrain from gathering together as you exit. You may also be directed to exit by row to prevent a situation that could prevent proper social distancing.
COVINGTON KIDS will not meet during the service at this time so take advantage of this opportunity to sit together and worship as a family. Please note there will not be a LIVE ZOOM meeting for the kids during the service but we encourage you to be a part of SUMMER IN THE SON on Wednesday nights at 7pm.
For parents with babies & small children, there will be a large room and changing table available if you need to take your child out for a moment during the service.
Also make note that our coffee shop CAFFE 2:42 will not be open and other groups and classes will continue to meet in their ONLINE GATHERINGS. Water fountains will be closed.
Even though we are excited to come back together, PLEASE USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT. Don’t feel pressure if you are not yet comfortable being around others, especially since you can still STREAM the service from the safety of your own home at covington.online.church.
Thank you, we love and miss you and look forward to gathering again with you on the 19th!
